Japan stocks open lower as yen advances

TOKYO, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2017 ) - Tokyo stocks opened lower Monday as the Yen's strength discouraged investors while they waited for US President Donald Trump to deliver a policy speech to Congress later this week.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.81 percent, or 156.05 points, to 19,127.49 in the first minutes of trading, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.86 percent, or 13.35 points, at 1,536.79.
