TEHRAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2018 ) ::In a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Construction and Housing Ms Anne Nafi Aussi, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari said removing problems in bilateral banking ties would be effective in expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
In order to attain economic development, it is necessary for both countries to upgrade their ties from a simple trade relations to a more complicated level of cooperation in technical, engineering, industrial and housing fields, he told IRNA here on Tuesday.
He also suggested that a joint committee be set up by both countries in line with promoting mutual technical and engineering cooperation which was welcomed by the Iraqi minister.
Nafi Aussi, for her part, called for measures to be taken to solidify economic cooperation between the two countries and vowed to try to remove financial problems facing Iranian companies operating on Iraqi soil (including their overdue pays).
Shariatmadari, who arrived in Baghdad Monday morning at the head of a delegation, also held talks with Iraqi Minister of Works and Planning Salman Jumaili and Minister of Industry and Minerals Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on ways of expanding mutual cooperation in various trade and industrial fields.
