Hong Kong Stocks End Down As Tech Firms Suffer 25 April 2018

Hong Kong stocks retreated on Wednesday tracking a sharp sell-off on Wall Street as dealers worry about rising US interest rates, while technology firms extended losses following another painful day for their US counterparts.

The Hang Seng Index shed 1.01 percent, or 308.09 points, to close at 30,328.15. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.35 percent, or 10.96 points, to 3,117.97 but the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, climbed 0.27 percent, or 4.85 points, to 1,809.26.
