'Doing Business With America' Desk Set-up At LCCI

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2017 ) : the first ever 'Doing Business with America' Desk has been set up at Lahore Chamber of commerce and Industry (LCCI), in an effort to increase existing Pak-US annual bilateral trade of USD 5.5 billion.
The desk was inaugurated jointly by US Commercial Counselor Steve Knode and the Acting President LCCI Amjad Ali Jawa here on Monday. US Consulate General Lahore Yuriy Fidkew was also present. Knode said the Desk will provide in-depth business counseling and facilitation services to local companies interested in doing business with American counterparts and investing in the United States.
He said the United States is Pakistan's largest trading partner with total bilateral trade of roughly USD 5.
5 billion annually, adding that US is also the leading export market for Pakistani products.
US exports to Pakistan reached a record in 2016, surpassing US Dollar two billion, he mentioned. Consul General Fedkiw and Commercial Counselor Knode admired Punjab government's efforts to encourage and empower young entrepreneurs, particularly women, and the dynamics of the ICT sector in the province.
