ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jan, 2018 ) :The government has added a total of 8,794 MW electricity from various sources including coal, solar, wind, furnace oil, nuclear, hydel, gas and bagasse in the national grid system since 2013.
Giving the breakup, Official sources told APP here Monday, that 5,282 MW electricity was added in the system during last 2017, 920 MW in 2016, 717 MW in 2015,1422 MW in 2014 and 474 MW in 2013.
Sharing the details of the projects, they said that Sahilwal Coal Power Project (1320 MW), Havelli Bahadur Shah , Bhikki and Baloki ( 760 MW each), Chashniupp IV (340 MW), Port Qasim (660 MW), Faitma Energy (120 MW), UEP (100 MW) and Dawood and Sachal (50 MW each) etc were completed during 2017.
Similarly, Chashniupp-III (340 MW), Apolo Solar, Best Energy Solar, Crest Energy Solar (100 MW), Younis, Metro, Tapap Wind, Master Wind, Gul Ahmed Wind, Tenags (50 MW each) projects started supplying electricity to the national grid during 2016.
The sources said that Nandipur Power Project (425 MW), Quaid-e-Azam solar park (100 MW), Chinnot Bagasses (62 MW ), Sapphire Wind (50 MW) and Rahim Yar Khan Bagasse (30 MW) were completed during 2014. Moreover, Guddu (747 MW),, Uch-II (,393 MW), Dubair Khwar hydel power (130 MW), JDW-II and JDW-III (53 MW) and TGF Wind (50 MW) etc projects were commissioned during 2014.
