Industry, Mineral Resources Ministry Concludes 4th Future Minerals Forum

Riyadh, January (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 17 كانون الثاني 2025ء) In his closing speech of the conference, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef expressed his utmost appreciation to the wise leadership for their generous support and patronage of the conference, which has become a prominent global platform reflecting the Kingdom's status in the mining sector.

The minister emphasized that this unwavering support reflects the leadership's keenness to achieve the renaissance and sustainability of the mining sector, in line with Kingdom's Vision 2030 goal of positioning mining as the third pillar of Saudi industry.

Alkhorayef expressed his deep gratitude to the participating ministers from various countries of the world, in addition to partners and sponsors, for their valuable contributions that enriched the forum's sessions and activities. He noted that the fruitful discussions during the sessions and the agreement on innovative solutions that support local communities’ sustainable utilization of the sector mark a significant achievement and a source of pride for the success of the forum.

He stressed that the FMF was originally conceived to draw attention to the mining region spanning from Africa to West and Central Asia, but its success has expanded its role, transforming it into a globally recognized platform that brings together sector leaders to discuss key challenges and opportunities.

Minister Alkhorayef concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of continuing to work in a spirit of cooperation and partnership to achieve a sustainable future for the mining sector, noting that the outcomes of this forum will be a starting point for a new phase of development and growth, contributing to achieving economic and social development globally.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced that 18,000 investment leaders, heads of major mining companies, and technical experts and specialists from 165 countries attended the forum. Some 405 speakers, including ministers, ambassadors, and heads of delegations from several countries, participated in the 96 sessions.

The two-day forum sessions covered key topics such as adding value, fostering cooperation across mineral supply chains, and making vital investments in the sector’s infrastructure, while also discussing untapped resources in the mining sector in Africa, West Asia, and Central Asia and strategies for building resilient mineral supply chains.

The FMF also addressed enhancing investment partnerships in mining and mineral processing projects, the sector’s contribution to community development, exploring new mining areas to support manufacturing sectors, and enabling future decisions through artificial intelligence technologies.

It also highlighted strategies for leveraging local investments and partnerships to drive the growth of the mining sector, offering new perspectives on integrating local communities and economies into the minerals value chain, while enhancing the connection between innovation and sustainability to ensure a sustainable mining future.

The forum saw the announcement of 126 agreements and memoranda of understanding, worth a total of SAR107 billion, covering various fields such as exploration, mining, financing, research and development, innovation, sustainability, value-added chains, and mining industries.
