Kuwait Chairs GCC Meeting on Supporting Syria

Kuwait, January (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 17 كانون الثاني 2025ء) According to Kuwait news Agency (KUNA), Ambassador Al-Bader described the meeting as part of continuous efforts to strengthen regional security and stability while addressing current developments in Syria in a manner that aligns with the shared interests of regional countries. He noted that this meeting was held in accordance with the results of the extraordinary Ministerial Council meeting during its 46th session, which took place in Kuwait on December 26, reaffirming the GCC countries' commitment to closely monitor the situation in Syria.

He emphasized that the meeting seeks to formulate a strategic vision and practical steps that can be applied in the subsequent phase to ensure the GCC's role in bolstering security and stability in Syria, in collaboration with regional and international partners. He noted that several measures and initiatives have been established to strengthen GCC efforts and provide a solid foundation for its involvement in the Syrian context, which includes supporting political solutions, fostering stability, and improving humanitarian conditions.

He stated that the meeting reflected a unified Gulf agreement on the fundamental principles and constants that outline a roadmap for the involvement of the GCC countries in the Syrian issue. It emphasized that the security and stability of Syria are essential to the overall security of the region, and that assisting the Syrian people in realizing their aspirations for stability and development is a key priority for the GCC countries.

Ambassador Al-Bader stressed that the GCC countries will continue their coordination efforts to support the Syrian track, grounded in a strategy of dialogue and joint action with the international community to guarantee security and stability in Syria and the region.
