PM Imran releases development funds with ‘heavy heart’

He said that with a heavy heart, he is releasing Rs 15 crore for each constituency for the first and last time.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 21st February, 2019) Prime Minister Imran Khan has released development funds for Members National Assembly with a heavy heart.

According to a news report published in a local newspaper, Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the parliamentary meeting on Wednesday said that he is not in favour of giving development funds to the lawmakers.

He said that with a heavy heart, he is releasing Rs 15 crore for each constituency for the first and last time.

The report further said that the prime minister has directed party members to refrain from engaging in traditional politics.

PM Imran reportedly said that it is not appropriate for parliamentarians to engage at SHO and DSP level.

He said that the parliamentarians have no link with the developmental projects.

Chairing a meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party at the Parliament House, the prime minister also advised against the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan will act like a responsible state.

When the prime minister was apprised about Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani's arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during the meeting, he said in a lighter vein that there will now be a threat to democracy.

He was referring to the opposition's rhetoric over the arrests of opposition politicians by the corruption watchdog in graft cases.
