Egyptian Military Court Sentences in Absentia 8 IS-Linked Terrorists to Death - Reports
The military tribunal of the Egyptian city of Ismailia imposed a death penalty in absentia on eight radicals of the Wilayat Sinai branch of the Islamic State (IS terror group, banned in Russia) who were found guilty of attacks on military facilities in the Sinai Peninsula, media reported Wednesday.
CAIRO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th November, 2018) The military tribunal of the Egyptian city of Ismailia imposed a death penalty in absentia on eight radicals of the Wilayat Sinai branch of the Islamic State (IS terror group, banned in Russia) who were found guilty of attacks on military facilities in the Sinai Peninsula, media reported Wednesday.
According to the Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper, 32 more were sentenced to life in prison and another two were to serve 15 years in prison.
In 2016, the group attacked a series of military facilities with firearms and grenade launchers and mined roads used by the Egyptian army.
