4-days National Workshop on “Pathological Readings for Clinicians” concludes at UVAS

The Department of Clinical Medicine & Surgery (CMS) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore organised 4-days national workshop on “Pathological Readings for Clinicians” under Pak-US Science & Technology project titled “Capacity Building of Neglected Vector Born Diseases in Livestock” funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC)

LAHORE (Pakistan Point News - 25th Oct, 2018 ) The Department of Clinical Medicine & Surgery (CMS) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore organised 4-days national workshop on “Pathological Readings for Clinicians” under Pak-US Science & Technology project titled “Capacity Building of Neglected Vector Born Diseases in Livestock” funded by Higher education Commission (HEC).

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Prof DrTalatNaseer Pasha presided over the concludingceremony of workshop and distributed certificates andshields among participants and resource personswhile Prof DrIrshadHussain,Prof DrAneelaZameerDurrani and a number of postgraduate studentsand faculty members from UVAS and different institutions of all over Punjab, clinicians,stakeholders from poultry sector were present. Speaking on the occasion, Prof DrTalatNaseer Pashaappreciated the efforts of faculty and stressed the need of developing clinical leadership in veterinary profession. He lauded the organizersfor arranging such an informative workshop for the capacity building of veterinarian. He said such workshops are necessary for networking with renownedexperts andsharing innovative knowledge with each other.

He also said UVAS also conducting one month internshipdairy training for professional at Dairy Training and Research Center Ravi Campus Pattoki. Speaking about the workshop objectives, Prof DrAneelaZameerDurraniemphasized the need of use of clinical reasoning and team work for reliable solution of disease problems in field. She also presented the vote of thanks. The aim of the workshop was to enhance skills of interpretation for lab tests and evaluate cells organs and tissues for reliable and appropriate disease diagnosis. The workshop comprises on 6 modules, which covered the major areas related to blood tests for disease diagnosis, haemopoiesis sample required & sampling techniques, blood chemistry tests, renal physiological correlation in relation to the disease picture, brucellosis antibody rapid test kit, liver function test (LFT) of different parameters in relation to the disease picture, significance of (CFS, fecal sample, vaginal fluid) in disease diagnosis, postmortem & ELISA interpretation in poultry disease and small animal ultrasonography etc.
