Moscow Welcomes Peaceful Atmosphere Seen During Bosnian Election - Ministry

Moscow welcomes the fact that the election in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in a peaceful atmosphere, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Wednesday.

KOKTEBEL (Russia) (Pakistan Point news / Sputnik - 11th October, 2018) Moscow welcomes the fact that the election in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in a peaceful atmosphere, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Wednesday.

"We are pleased that the vote was held in a peaceful atmosphere. We positively assess the work of Bosnia and Herzegovina's central election commission, it as enabled the holding of the electoral procedures in compliance with democratic standards. We count on the early formation of new representative bodies of executive power in Bosnia and Herzegovina .

Bosnia and Herzegovina held a general election on Sunday. Voters elected the members of the presidency, lawmakers of both chambers of the country's parliament, as well as local authorities, while Republika Srpska, one of the country's constitutional and legal entities, also elected its president and vice president.

The House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists includes 42 seats, with 28 lawmakers being elected from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the rest from the Republika Srpska.
