China asks India learn lessons from past border’s violation

BEIJING, (Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2018) : China on Monday asked India to learn lessons from the past border’s violation to ensure peace and stability in the region. Commenting on Indian Army Chief of Staff Lavat’s press statement that ‘although China is a strong country, India is not a weak country’, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang pointed out that the Indian army illegally crossed the border last year and should avoid to do so in future.

The spokesperson reiterated that Dongliang area belongs to China and has always been under the effective jurisdiction of China, there is no dispute to this effect. The stationed patrols by the Chinese frontier security forces in the turbulent areas are based on the stipulations of historical treaties and exercise China's own sovereign rights and safeguard its territorial sovereignty, he added.

The spokesperson recalled that the Sino-Indian border Sikkim section has been demarcated by the history. China will continue to exercise its sovereignty rights in the Donglang area in accordance with the stipulations of historical conventions and will unswervingly safeguard its territorial sovereignty.

“We demand that the Indian military conscientiously learn from the lessons, abide by historical boundaries, effectively maintain peace and stability in the border areas and create a good atmosphere for the positive development of the relations between the two countries.

” If the senior Indian military official refers to this particular area of the Chinese territory, China believes that India is well aware of this position.

Lu Kang hoped India could learn from it and avoid the recurrence of some incidents that took place last year.

In the past year, Sino-Indian relations have experienced some ups and downs.
