Peshawar Eliminate Kohat In KP U-16 Inter-District Hockey

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jan, 2017 ) : Peshawar eliminated Kohat by 4-1 in a thrilling encounter of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Under-16 Inter-District Hockey Championship being played here at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium on Friday.
Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hockey Association Syed Zahir was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the match the players were introduced to him. Members of the Pakistan Hockey Federation Congress Manzoor Ahmad Sadat (Kohat), Tehsin Ullah (Charsadda), Malik Zahir Khan (Nowshera), Ayaz Khan (Kohat), academy coaches Zia Ur Rehman Binori and Yasir islam were also present.
The match was started on fast tempo and Peshawar was jolted by Kohat when it took the lead in the first quarters of the four quarters match. For Kohat Naseer Khan guided team to take any early lead when he slammed in a beautiful goal in the 4th minute of the match.
The goal injected new vigor in the rank of Kohat and it made more moves but failed to score any goal. In the first 20-minute Kohat fully dominated the proceedings but when Peshawar players settled down it started incisive rallies of attack and succeeded in leveling the lead in the 23rd minute through Fawad Khan on the field attempt.
It was in the 29th minute when Saleem Khan slammed in another goal when he sounded the board with his forceful hit from the top of the circle on the first penalty corner. When Peshawar took the lead, it raided on rival defence with good rallies of attacks but till the end of the first session Peshawar only scored two goals against one scored by Kohat.
It was in the 45th minute when Peshawar scored another goal through center striker Zarin Khan on the field attempt while in the 53rd minute Taimur slammed in another goal to make the tally 4-1.
On the other hands, Kohat, after conceding one after other tried hard to reduce the margin but was not allowed by the pack defence of Peshawar and thus Peshawar won the match by 4-1. Haroon Khan and Amir Hamza of Pakistan Air Force supervised the match while Master Khan and Malik Zahir acted as field judges.
