Talking to APP, PHMEA Senior Vice Chairman (Northern Zone) Muhammad Amjad Khawaja said the package reflected that the government was taking revolutionary steps to boost the export sector. He said the incentives provided by the government would help exporters to gradually recapture their lost markets and earn precious foreign exchange for the country in addition to create maximum job opportunities for unemployed youth.
He said the government would inject 10000 MW of electricity in national grid system in 2018 which would resolve the energy issue. Meanwhile, Hafiz Engineer Ihtasham Javed, Chairman All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA) Faisalabad Region also welcomed the textile package.
Addressing the general body meeting of value added textile industry, he said abolition of custom duty on import of textile machinery and exemption from sales tax would help the textile sector to replace its old and dilapidated machinery with modern and state-of-the-art one.
