Federal Insurance Ombudsman Decides 70 Complaints In 9 Months

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2017 ) : The Federal Insurance Ombudsman's regional office, Islamabad decided 70 complaints filed by aggrieved insurance policy holders during the nine month period of its existence.
Resultantly an amount of Rs 22.981 million held up for years were paid by the insurance industry to the complainants who were mostly uninfluential and ordinary citizens including retired persons, villagers and widows.
The regional office which was inaugurated by President of Pakistan on April 7, 2016, covers areas including Islamabad Capital Territory, Rawalpindi and Sargodha Divisions of Punjab province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and PATA, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
A statement issued here Tuesday said this regional office has been established for convenience of upcountry insurance policy holders aggrieved by injustice and maladministration of any insurance company.
The prompt, inexpensive and corruption free dispensation of justice by the office of federal insurance ombudsman in consonance with the government policy was a reliable source of hope for all policy holders aggrieved by injustice or any other maladministration of an insurance company, the statement added.
